Alice Barker House is an art filled bushland oasis, located just 5 minutes from the centre of Castlemaine.

The home features an extensive art collection and a living area with hardwood floors where you can enjoy an open fire with the Morso wood stove. Books and board games are supplied for your entertainment. There is a fully equipped kitchen with concrete bench tops, large Smeg oven, Essteele cookware and 6 seat dining table.

Alice Barker House has two bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 guests.

The bathroom and shower are wheelchair accessible. Aura bed linen, hotel quality towels and Aesop shower products add a touch of low key luxury to this bush retreat.

From the living area, large glass doors open onto an expansive outdoor deck with a covered section, providing a space for entertaining or relaxation. There is a 6 seat table, comfortable chairs and a dart board. The deck overlooks the surrounding garden, native bush and dam. Anyone who is not a safe swimmer should be supervised at all times and it is recommended that guests with children who are not capable around water should not book this property.

Alice Barker House is situated on a fully fenced 1½ hectare bush block which attracts natural flora and fauna. This is an ideal place to stay for nature lovers.

The property is located along the Goldfields Track. This bushwalking and mountain bike trail traverses scenic countryside and bushland, linking some of central Victoria's most historic towns.

Drive 7 kilometres to the buzzing town of Castlemaine where you can enjoy great coffee and food, discover the local art scene or indulge in some retail therapy.

Alice Barker House is only 90 minutes drive from Melbourne's CBD, making it a perfect weekend escape where you disconnect to reconnect.

• Dogs welcome everywhere on the property
• Dogs are welcome to sleep inside
• For outside dogs, there is a secure dog kennel under the deck
• Entire property is fully fenced with chicken wire to a height of 1.35 metres, so dogs can explore and enjoy it all
• In hot weather dogs love going for a dip in the pond
• Dogs stay free
