Wolf Gully is a small private getaway, nestled on a secluded gold reef lined hillside. Ideal for nature lovers, this retreat is thoughtfully set up for your ultimate rural weekend or short escape.

The living area of the cottage features a chaise sofa, TV, DVD player, books and board games. This space is comfortable all year round with a split-system air-conditioner and wood heater. The adjacent meals area has a dining table and kitchen equipped with an electric cooktop, double oven, toaster, dishwasher and fridge. There is no microwave.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 3 people. Both bedrooms can be occupied if two guests require separate rooms.

There is 1 bathroom.

  • Main bathroom - walk-in rain shower, wash basin, toilet, heat lamp

Crisp, quality bed linen is supplied.

There are full laundry facilities including a washing machine and clothes dryer.

The cottage is plumbed with fresh rain water from a tank, making it almost off-grid with the exception of electricity - perfect for eco-conscious dwellers.

Enjoy the incredible outdoor living spaces at Wolf Gully. At the rear of the cottage is an expansive deck with a dining table and outdoor seating, shaded by a sail. It overlooks a lush hillside with views everywhere you look. At the front of the cottage is a covered patio with rollable cafe blinds. This area looks out onto a yard which contains the original outdoor dunny and cooker that dates back to over 100 years from the original property owners.

Nature lovers will delight in the prolific birdlife on the property and will also be able to spot possums. The next door paddock is home to alpacas, sheep and cows.

The cottage is set at the end of a secluded gravel laneway that comes off the main road. Enjoy this beautiful hillside outlook and views beyond. The Goldfields Track and Loddon River are close by.

Wolf Gully is located in the tiny former gold mining village of Vaughan which has natural mineral springs. Vaughan is easily accessible and within easy reach of larger surrounding towns. It is a 12 minute drive to Castlemaine, 20 minutes to Daylesford and 28 minutes to Kyneton.

For delicious pub-style meals with a great atmosphere, head 5 minutes down the road to Guildford Family Hotel. Across the road from the hotel is the fabulous Guildford General Store where you can get breakfast, lunch, terrific coffee, snacks and treats. If you are staying on a Saturday, take an 8 minute drive to the weekly Wesley Hill Community Market for an assortment of locally grown produce and hand-made goods.

  • Complimentary dog friendly linen on one human bed on request
  • Guests can pack light with beds, bowls, welcome treats and one XL onsite crate all provided
  • Dogs are welcome on the couch using the supplied couch sheet
  • Fully secure fencing to contain very small to large dogs, particularly if you need to go out without your pooch
  • The neighbouring creek and all ditches have been carefully fenced off
