Howqua House is a cosy split-level home near Lake Eildon and Mount Buller where you can unwind and reconnect with your friends and family.

Nestled in the small community of Howqua Inlet, this peaceful retreat is surrounded by nature and is designed for comfort and relaxation.

The open plan living area occupies the upper level of this home. There is a large couch in front of a TV with Chromecast and a wood heater with firewood supplied for the first night or two. The meals area has a dining table that seats four people, with two extra chairs available. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric cooktop and oven, microwave, coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle, fridge, dishwasher, condiments and a collection of cooking utensils and crockery.

Howqua House has 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6 people.

  • Main bedroom - queen bed, side tables, wall mounted dimmer lights, wardrobe
  • Second bedroom - double bed, king single bunk bed, dressing table

There is one bathroom.

  • Main bathroom - shower, vanity unit, separate toilet, additional outdoor toilet

Fresh hotel-quality linen, towels and premium Australian made Thankyou body and hair products are supplied.

The laundry is equipped with a washing machine and ironing facilities.

Split-system air-conditioners are located in the living area and in both bedrooms, ensuring your stay will be comfortable during all times of the year.

A sliding glass door from the living area opens onto a large elevated deck which is nestled amongst trees. On this deck is an outdoor dining table which seats 8 people and a Weber gas BBQ. It is the perfect spot to enjoy some birdwatching, the view of the surrounding mountains, or glimpses through the trees to boats on Lake Eildon.

Howqua House is situated on a 2,650m2 allotment and is surrounded by a large and private garden with beautiful blue box gums where you can enjoy relaxed outdoor living. There is a picnic table, an outdoor mud kitchen for kids to get messy, and expansive lawns for games.

Ample off-street parking is available and there is a charger for electric vehicles.

Nearby attractions include:

  • Lake Eildon - within walking distance, perfect for tranquil lakeside walks and quiet picnics
  • Mount Buller - 35 minute drive to the base gates, ideal for snow days and alpine adventures
  • Jamieson - 10 minute drive, particularly beautiful in autumn with its golden trees, riverside walks, hotel and brewery
  • Mansfield - 20 minute drive, cosy cafes, boutique shopping, Armchair Cinema, farmers markets, zoo, botanic park with nature playground, Delatite Winery and Great Victorian Rail Trail

Explore the High Country further with bushwalking, scenic drives, 4WD tracks, helicopter flights and horse riding.

Howqua House is perfect for a stay at any time of year. During winter, the snowfields of Mount Buller beckon, then you can return back in the evening to a roaring fire. Spring and autumn are noted for their crisp mornings and clear days which are ideal for exhilarating bush walks and appreciating the stunning beauty of the High Country. During summer, enjoy swimming in Lake Eildon and local rivers.
