Venus Bay dog friendly beaches
Dogs on beaches at Venus Bay:
- Dogs are prohibited from all ocean beaches and all beaches within Cape Liptrap Coastal Park between 9am and 6pm from 1st December to 31st March
- Outside of those times, dogs are permitted on-lead at all ocean beaches between No.1 beach and No.5 beach, including No.2, No.3 and No.4 beaches
- At Doyles Beach (the Anderson Inlet beach at the end of Doyles Road), dogs are permitted off-lead but under owner control (see important note below)
Important note
Many beaches in the South Gippsland Shire are under the management of Parks Victoria or foreshore reserve committees, so they are the responsible authority for declaring dog restrictions. However, there are some beaches which are under the control of South Gippsland Shire which currently does not have any specific on or off leash designated areas, so dog owners should exercise common sense when it comes to allowing their dog off-lead, keeping in mind people and other dogs may be in the area.
Official sources for dog restrictions
- Cape Liptrap Coastal Park - covers the entire ocean coastline
When bringing your dog to the beach, refer to signs at beach entry points and consult the official sources for the latest information. Changes to dog restrictions may be made at any time by local authorities.
